Therapist: Licensed Mental Health or Substance Abuse

$58,921 – $76,790 a year – Full-time

Southwest Counseling Service (SCS) is a Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment facility located in the southwestern corner of Wyoming (Rock Springs). SCS provides a wide variety of professional services which include Mental Health Outpatient, Substance Abuse Outpatient and Residential, Psychosocial Services, Psychiatric Services as well as Child, Adolescent, and Family Services. Preference given to applicants that are eligible to provide emergency services.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a clinical program that is regionally accredited and that is primarily oriented to mental health or substance abuse service delivery.
  • Preference given to candidates who are/will be eligible to provide emergency on-call services.
  • Completion of a supervised clinical experience, preferably as part of the degree program, comprising a minimum of 200 hours.
  • Licensed or licensable in the State of Wyoming.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Capable of performing diagnosis using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual currently in use.
  • Capable of performing written, dictated, or typed record keeping and correspondence as it relates to job functions.
  • Capable of rapport building with clients to facilitate their engagement in the psychotherapy process.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted concepts, techniques and procedures of evaluation and psychotherapeutic treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide agency and community based behavioral health services to all age groups and diagnostic categories utilizing individual, family, couple and group modalities.
  • Perform professional quality assessments that result in a broad picture of treatment needs.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to effectively address mental health and substance abuse issues.
  • Identify, provide and/or arrange for case management services ensuring quality wrap around services.
  • Interpret and generate reports/correspondence of professional quality.
  • Proficient with a computer and the required software programs as applicable to the job functions.

Front Desk Clerk

Full-time

The Front Desk Clerk is responsible for representing SCS to the public and clients in a professional and dignified manner and to assist the public and clients in obtaining services. The purpose is to provide quality support service for the clients and clinical staff of SCS. The Front Desk Clerk will practice in an ethical manner and will be subject to supervision of his/her activities by the Office Manager or any member of the Management Team when appropriate.

Job Environment: The Front Desk Clerk will generally perform the job in a normal office environment. The Front Desk Clerk may be called upon to transport client records, other agency materials or clients. The Front Desk Clerk may be required to work flexible hours as needed by SCS including evening hours.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma, one-year clerical experience, and knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computer system software and use.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background investigation or demonstrate rehabilitation.
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record when job requires transportation of agency materials.

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily front desk procedures as outlined in checklists.
  • Receive, screen, and route telephone calls using multi-line system, take thorough and accurate messages.
  • Monitor reception area to ensure appropriate waiting time and safety of clients.
  • Prepare dailies and complete confirmation calls for the next business day.
  • Assist clients with filling out paperwork.
  • Ensure all open appointments/cancellations/dns are filled as needed.
  • Ensure appointments are up to date in Avatar throughout the business day.
  • Ensure all clinical schedules and schedule changes are entered accurately and timely into AVATAR.
  • Complete AOAA daily procedures as outlined in AOAA checklist.
  • Complete on call pw as outlined in checklist.

Custodian

Part-time

The Custodian is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of SCS facilities. The purpose is to provide a clean, healthy and safe environment for SCS staff and clients. The Custodian will practice in an ethical manner and will be subject to supervision of his/her activities by an assigned Manager or any member of the management team when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma, one-year previous janitorial experience, and knowledge of chemical use.
  • OSHA or HAZMAT training on handling poisonous chemicals within past year.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background investigation or demonstrate rehabilitation.
  • Ability to pass a Department of Motor Vehicle check, maintain a current driver’s license and have reliable transportation to work.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Skilled in attending to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, including those which may be difficult to meet.
  • Knowledgeable of poisonous cleaning chemicals and the necessary precautions to take to protect self from injury or harm.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Custodial Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Clean each assigned SCS facility according to each facilities cleaning schedule and requirements.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
  • Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ask trays and cigarette urns; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers.
  • Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
  • Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
  • Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments.
  • Lock and unlock assigned buildings: secure building when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights.
  • Follow instructions regarding use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.
  • Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis.
  • Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds. Launder rags and dust mops when appropriate.
